Rose Bridge Academy is a mixed 11-16 comprehensive school, serving our local community, where every student is valued and treated as an individual. We are proud of our caring, inclusive ethos where we set high standards and expectations and we encourage and support our students to achieve their very best. Students themselves developed our values of Respect, Believe and Achieve, and these underpin everything that we do. The Academy is well resourced with excellent facilities.

I won the Mayor for a Day competition by answering a simple question: “The legal voting age should be changed from 18 to 16 because...” with the answer: “16 and 17 year olds are just as passionate about important issues as adults can be and some of these issues can directly affect young people.” As a result, I spent a day with the Mayor. Miss Heaton and I were picked up from in the mayor's car, and we started the day at an eco-schools conference, where schools and organizations spoke about what they were doing to help the environment; we then had afternoon tea at the Mayor's parlour, after which we visited a primary school to deliver a presentation on what they needed to know about the Mayor. We were then taken back to school at the end of the day. It was a very good day and I highly recommend entering the competition next time to anyone into that sort of thing.
