Welcome to the Rose Bridge Academy website.

Rose Bridge Academy is a mixed 11-16 comprehensive school, serving our local community, where every student is valued and treated as an individual. We are proud of our caring, inclusive ethos where we set high standards and expectations and we encourage and support our students to achieve their very best. Students themselves developed our values of Respect, Believe and Achieve, and these underpin everything that we do. The Academy is well resourced with excellent facilities.

Visitors are always welcome to make an appointment to visit the Academy and see what we have to offer, talk to our staff and students and see us in action. We look forward to welcoming you.

At Rose Bridge Academy our vision is to improve outcomes for all and for every student to enjoy and succeed in the academy, regardless of their starting point or background.

We aim to:

  • develop well rounded individuals that demonstrate greater resilience, determination and strength of character,
  • equip students with the skills required to access increased opportunities and enhance their life chances,
  • insist on high expectations and challenge of all,
  • develop an aspirational academy community that engages all parents and guardians.

 Science Trip - Brockholes

On Wednesday 14th December 2016 the students from years 9 and 10 SLC visited Brockholes Wetland Nature reserve. Whilst there they worked in groups to complete a bug hunt, in which they searched leaf litter and trees to find various minibeasts and invertebrates and then tried to identify them. In the afternoon they were shown how to use binoculars correctly and they then used these new skills to look for and identify different birds that cohabitate in the wetlands area. The visit will link closely with the current GCSE learning that is taking place in their science lessons enabling the students to see real life examples of the science curriculum in practice.
